Jay Ariës

Jay Ariës was born in The Hague (Netherlands) and studied from 2015 on in the Bachelor of Contemporary Dance at the ZhdK in Zurich, where he graduated in 2018. He has danced in choreographies by Ohad Naharin, Crystal Pite, Paul Lightfoot & Sol León, Marco Goecke, Regina van Berkel, Sharon Eyal, Yuki Mori, Felix Landerer, among others. For the season 2017/2018 he danced as an apprentice with Tanzcompagnie Konzert Theater Bern (Dir.: Estefania Miranda), followed by an engagement at the Theater St. Gallen (Dir.: Beate Vollack) in 2018/2019. After a Summer Intensive Course, he was receiving an internship for the 2019/2020 season at the Nederlands Dans Theater 2 (Dir.: Paul Lightfoot). The following season he danced for the Spanish company "Metamorphosis Dance" in Madrid. From 2021/22 on he is a member of Staatstheater Nürnberg Ballett.
