Das Streichquartett gilt als Königsdisziplin der Kammermusik. Nahezu alle bedeutenden Komponist*innen haben Streichquartette geschrieben, es gibt wenige Ausnahmen: etwa Gustav Mahler oder Hector Berlioz. Aus dem überreichen Repertoire hat das Ensemble um Konzertmeister Manuel Kastl wieder ein schönes Programm zusammengestellt.
